I just felt that her being the Alchemist was kind of convenient. Maybe it was because it turned out that Jules WAS the Alchemist. Maybe it was because she DIDN’T love Liam even though it was SO OBVIOUS that he was good. I can’t quite put my finger on it, maybe something to do with the characters who had so far been really interesting and had a lot of development, maybe it was the fact that she was STILL into Roan despite talking to him like 3 times for the whole book. Somewhere around the 250 page mark I stopped loving it. I loved the world and the idea that blood was time and rich people could live forever. When I got to about 10 pages into this book and knew I would LOVE IT, I was already making predictions about what would happen and thinking “oh, it would be so cool if THIS happened, or THIS”. There was SO MUCH hype around this book, so I was SO excited to start. There she discovers secrets about herself, her past, and those around her. Jules takes a job at Everless, a rich estate where her father used to work, because her father is dying (running out of time) and they are paying well. This book is about a girl, Jules, who lives in a world where blood is time and money, and the rich can live for hundreds of years.
